Rehearsals Prompt Tough Decisions (Image Credits: Flickr)
Demi Lovato shared news of significant changes to her “It’s Not That Deep” tour, prioritizing recovery after early preparations revealed scheduling strains.[1][2]
Rehearsals Prompt Tough Decisions
The Grammy-nominated artist opened up in a series of Instagram Stories posts on Tuesday. She described how preparations exposed an overcommitted itinerary. “While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible,” Lovato wrote.[1]
To deliver strong performances throughout, she chose to insert more rest periods. This adjustment ensures she can sustain the full run. Lovato emphasized the need for additional rehearsal time. Fans first learned of the shift directly from her social media update. The move marks her first major tour since 2022.[3]
Cities Impacted by Cancellations
Five stops fell away from the original lineup. Charlotte hosted the planned opener on April 8 at Spectrum Center. Atlanta followed on April 12 at State Farm Arena. Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena show on April 14 also vanished.
- May 5: Denver at Ball Arena
- May 8: Las Vegas at MGM Grand Garden Arena
Tickets bought via Ticketmaster or AXS trigger automatic refunds. Third-party purchases require contacting the seller directly. Lovato expressed regret: “I am so sad to say that I will no longer be able to see you on this tour and I am so sorry to those who planned to be there.”[1]
Revised Tour Path Ahead
Orlando now launches the trek on April 13 at Kia Center. The original April 10 date there shifted forward by three days. Existing tickets remain valid, with more available on her site. Adéla opens every show.
The slimmed schedule spans 18 North American dates. It wraps May 25 in Houston at Toyota Center. Other stops include New York at Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles at The Kia Forum. The tour supports her ninth album, released last October.[4]
Reflecting on Touring’s Demands
Lovato has spoken before about the physical toll of road life. In a 2024 Hollywood Reporter interview, she noted it “takes a toll on your body.” Recent rehearsals reinforced those concerns. She aims to balance excitement with sustainability this time.
Supporters praised her candor online. The ninth studio effort blends new tracks with hits. This outing revives her live presence after a hiatus. Preparations continue with adjusted pacing.[1]
Health remains paramount for enduring careers in music. Lovato closed her message optimistically: “I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me!”[3]
